Lyfe Jennings Says NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts Rejected Him From Their Show: ‘Told Me I Wasn’t A Big Enough Celeb’
Fans of R&B singer Lyfe Jennings apparently won’t get the chance to see him perform on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk Concert series.
The 46-year-old, known for his classic hits such as “S.E.X.” and “Must Be Nice,” recently shared that he was denied an appearance on the show, writing in a post on Instagram:
“Last month @Tinydesk told me I wasn’t a big enough celeb to perform on their show. So thanku to Unplugged for [still] believing in me.”

Lyfe Jennings has been active in music for more than two decades. As a soul and R&B singer, the Ohio native has released a number of projects, with his 2004 debut album “Lyfe 268-192” becoming platinum-certified and his 2006 follow-up album “The Phoenix” debuting #2 on the US Billboard 200. It was also one of the top-selling R&B/Hip-Hop Albums of 2006 and 2007.
Lyfe Jennings released his latest full-length studio project “777” in 2019.
