Cassie’s Lawyer Slams Diddy’s Gag Order Request, References Previous Statements From His Family & Attorney
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs wants the court to issue a gag order while his sex trafficking case continues, but Cassie’s lawyer has filed a motion against it.
According to reports, the “Me & U” singer’s lawyer argued that Diddy, 55, shouldn’t be allowed to silence anyone who claims they were abused by the hip-hop mogul while his own family and attorney speak openly about the case.
The lawyer reportedly cited Diddy’s son Quincy’s Instagram post, in which he called the accusations made against his dad “devastating” for the family and promised the “truth will prevail.”

The attorney for Cassie, 38, additionally cited statements made by Diddy’s mom who called the case a “public lynching” and a “narrative created out of lies,” as well as Diddy’s own attorney who alleged the case is a “racially motivated prosecution.”
Cassie’s lawyer furthered that Diddy’s legal team is unfairly attempting to mitigate damaging statements from alleged victims, while leaving his supporters free to make public comments, writing in the motion:
“Mr. Combs and his agents’ abuse of extrajudicial statements alone undermines the legitimacy of the relief he now requests and is yet another basis for denying his request for a gag order.”
It has not been reported a judge has decided on the matter at this time.
