Bishop T.D. Jakes Sues Pastor Duane Youngblood For Defamation After He Claimed Jakes S*xually Ass*ulted Him When He Was A Teen

Bishop T.D. Jakes is suing Pastor Duane Youngblood for defamation, after Youngblood accused the Bishop of s*xually ass*ulting him when he was 18 or 19, according to the New York Post.

Youngblood accused Bishop T.D. Jakes of the crime during an episode of Larry Reid Live on Oct. 27.

Then, in a Nov. 15 letter issued to Jakes by Youngblood’s alleged attorney Tyrone Blackburn (the attorney who represented Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in his lawsuit against Diddy), Bishop T.D. Jakes was told to pay Youngblood $6 million “in order to resolve this matter quickly and privately.” The “demand” added that if Jakes didn’t pay, Youngblood would continue to publicly harass Jakes.

Rather than giving him the money, Jakes, who suffered a medical emergency while preaching a sermon this past Sunday (Nov. 24), sued him for defamation. His attorneys wrote in court documents,

“This lawsuit is intended to bring that scheme to a halt, to end the extreme emotional, physical, and spiritual toll Defendants’ conduct has caused Bishop Jakes, to set the record straight so the world understands the patent falsity of the accusations, and to restore Bishop Jakes’s reputation.”

Jakes team also noted that Youngblood is a registered sex offender in Pennsylvania, and is on parole. They continued,

“Bishop Jakes believes with all his heart that actual victims of sexual abuse should be treated with the utmost respect, kindness, empathy, and sympathy — and that true perpetrators of such abuse should be held accountable for their actions. But that is not the case here. Youngblood has used and abused the might of social media and the legal process to … make knowingly false accusations for his own personal and financial gain.”
