Mielle Organics’ Hair Growth Oil Accused Of Causing Hair Loss In Class-Action Lawsuit
Haircare line Mielle Orgnanjcs has been sued in a class-action lawsuit in Illinois, with a woman named Georgina Gomes claiming the company’s Rosemary Mint Scalp & Strengthening Hair Oil causes hair loss.
She alleged that the product has ingredients that have made her and other consumers experience hair loss, however, the label doesn’t warn consumers of the alleged risks.
The lawsuit states,
“No reasonable consumer would have paid any amount for a cosmetic product that contained ingredients causing hair loss or containing a high risk of causing hair loss.”
She is suing for Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fraud, unjust enrichment, and violations of state consumer fraud laws and is seeking certification of the class action, damages, fees, costs and a jury trial. She also wants others who have experienced the same thing to join the lawsuit.
The Procter & Gamble Company was also named in the Nov. 21 court filing.
