Supreme Court Agrees To Hear Challenge To Law That Could Ban TikTok in U.S.
TikTok is one step closer to fighting a potential U.S. ban after the Supreme Court agreed to hear its challenge to a law that could force the platform off app stores.
Oral arguments are set for January 10, just days before TikTok says it could face restrictions. The law, passed by Congress last year, requires TikTok’s Chinese parent, ByteDance, to sell its U.S. operations or face a ban. TikTok argues the law violates the First Amendment, citing concerns over free speech.

While lawmakers cite national security risks, TikTok warns a ban could affect over 170 million Americans and lead to significant losses for businesses and creators.
