Kyle Richards’ Estranged Husband Mauricio Umansky Criticized For Trying To Have PPP Loan Lawsuit Dismissed
Mauricio Umansky, estranged husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards, faces accusations of misusing $3.5 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Relator LLC recently criticized Mauricio Umansky for attempting to have the case dismissed, claiming he deflected from the allegations by attacking their credibility. The lawsuit contends that the loans were meant for struggling businesses, not for profitable companies like The Agency.
Relator LLC first filed a lawsuit in 2023, claiming Umansky and his firm, The Agency, obtained unnecessary loans despite reporting billions in sales in 2020 and 2021. Relator LLC alleges the funds were misappropriated and accuses Mauricio Umansky of falsifying payroll numbers to secure the loans.
Umansky has called the accusations baseless, describing Relator LLC as a “third-party whistleblower” with no direct knowledge of his company’s operations. He argues the claims are speculative and misinterpret financial data.
The case gained traction after court documents were unsealed in August 2024. Meanwhile, Umansky has reportedly moved into a luxury condo in West Hollywood amid his separation from Richards. The ongoing legal battle could damage his reputation.
