Hoda Kotb Cries As She Exits “Today” Show After 17 Years
After nearly three decades of unforgettable contributions to NBC, Hoda Kotb bid an emotional farewell to the network during her final day as co-host of the Today show, marking the end of an era with a tearful goodbye.
Overcome with emotion while thanking her co-anchors, she said:
“Can I just say thank you? I haven’t been able to articulate it, because I’m a mess most times, but I just want to say thanks.”
During her final broadcast, Kotb was surrounded by love and surprises, including appearances from her daughters, Haley (7) and Hope (5), as well as heartfelt tributes from Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Simone Biles.

Kotb announced her departure from the Today show and Today with Hoda & Jenna last September, emphasizing her desire for a slower pace and more time with her daughters. At the time, she shared:
“I think this decade, I have to start choosing me.”
Though stepping back from the daily grind, Kotb won’t be entirely absent. She plans to stay involved with Today in a limited capacity and is diving into the wellness space, with plans for retreats, an app, and other exciting ventures on the horizon.
