Diddy Scores Legal Win, $400 Million S*xual A$$ault Lawsuit From Male Accuser Dismissed
Diddy just scored a legal win after a federal judge dismissed a $400 million lawsuit filed against him by Michigan prisoner Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the case was thrown out because Derrick’s claims—centered on an alleged incident in 1997—were barred by the statute of limitations in Michigan.

The case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning Derrick cannot refile or pursue the same allegations against Diddy. However, the court declined Diddy’s request for sanctions to block Derrick from filing future lawsuits against him, instead warning Derrick against “duplicative, frivolous, or harassing filings.”
Derrick, who accused Diddy of a$$aulting him at a Holiday Inn s*x party in 1997, alleged in his lawsuit that the mogul spiked his drink, causing him to fall asleep. He claimed he woke up to find Diddy engaging in relations with a woman, and that Diddy then turned to him and said, “I did this to you too.”
Diddy’s legal team denied these claims.
