Duolingo is mourning the loss of its beloved owl mascot, Duo, who’s been urging users to complete their lessons for years.
In a post, the language learning app shared:
“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that Duo, formally known as The Duolingo Owl, is de@d. Authorities are currently investigating his cause of death and we are cooperating fully.”

“Tbh, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson.”
The post ended with a mention of Dua Lipa, requesting privacy during this time:
“We appreciate you respecting Dua Lipa’s privacy at this time.”
