The “Shrek” series began in 2001, introducing audiences to the grumpy but lovable ogre Shrek, who sets out to rescue Princess Fiona—only to discover she’s hiding a big secret of her own. With the help of Donkey, their adventures lead to love, friendship, and plenty of laughs.

The $4 billion franchise has spawned four films to date, multiple spin-offs, and a Broadway musical, with the most recent installment, “Shrek Forever After,” released in 2010.
