‘The Breakfast Club’ Co-Host Loren Lorosa Says She Felt ‘Guilty’ Staying On The Show After Jess Hilarious Returned: ‘I Don’t Want To Be A Burden’
The Breakfast Club’s Loren Lorosa is opening up about how she felt during the drama between her and co-host Jess Hilarious.
In a newly aired conversation with Carlos King, Loren admitted she felt “guilty” remaining on-air after Jess Hilarious—her predecessor—returned from maternity leave. She shared:
“I didn’t feel tension, but I did feel like I had to walk on eggshells… to be honest with you, I felt guilty.”
Loren went on to explain that, as a Black woman, she empathized with Jess, who was adjusting to a new normal while also navigating having a newborn. She added that she genuinely wanted to be a “support” to Jess, not a “burden,” admitting she felt guilt about simply being good at her job.
If you recall, following her return, Jess publicly expressed frustration with how The Breakfast Club handled Loren’s position. The comedian expressed she felt blindsided by the news that Loren would remain on-air permanently. Initially, Jess believed Loren was just filling in during her leave.

Though Jess had personally chosen Loren to step in, she admitted she felt caught off guard and frustrated, which led to a brief on-air tension between the two.
Thankfully, Jess and Loren have since reconciled, discussing the situation live and assuring fans that they’ve moved past it. Both continue to serve as regular co-hosts on the show.
