Quinta Brunson is opening up about possible storylines for her show, Abbott Elementary.
At the show’s FYC event in LA, the creator and star spoke on Janine and Gregory’s romance — and made it clear she’s not afraid to break them up if it serves the story. “I think there’s nothing wrong with crushing [fans]. It doesn’t technically deter me,” she told PEOPLE.

However, she shared that her goal isn’t to hurt viewers just for the sake of drama:
“I want everyone to have a good time here.”
Quinta also admitted she’s always amazed by how much fans invest in these fictional relationships:
“It’s always what you want. It’s what you’re writing for and writing towards. I love that they love Janine and Gregory so much. I love that they love Ava and Shawn. It’s really kind of amazing how invested they get.”
