Quinta Brunson Says She’s Not Afraid To Break Up ‘Abbott Elementary’ Characters Janine & Gregory If It’s ‘Good Storytelling’
Quinta Brunson is opening up about possible storylines for her show, Abbott Elementary.
At the show’s FYC event in LA, the creator and star spoke on Janine and Gregory’s romance — and made it clear she’s not afraid to break them up if it serves the story. “I think there’s nothing wrong with crushing [fans]. It doesn’t technically deter me,” she told PEOPLE.

However, she shared that her goal isn’t to hurt viewers just for the sake of drama:
“I want everyone to have a good time here.”
Quinta also admitted she’s always amazed by how much fans invest in these fictional relationships:
“It’s always what you want. It’s what you’re writing for and writing towards. I love that they love Janine and Gregory so much. I love that they love Ava and Shawn. It’s really kind of amazing how invested they get.”
