Influencer & ‘Love Island’ Alum Jalen Noble Denies His 1800s Texas Property Was A Plantation After Social Media Backlash: ‘No Ties To Slavery On This Property’
Influencer and “Love Island” alum Jalen Noble is setting the record straight about his Texas property after fans speculated it was built on a plantation.
In case you missed it, earlier this year, Jalen Noble gave his followers a tour of his new property and shared his plans to transform it. Given the age of the home and the cabins that closely resemble slave quarters of past plantations, social media immediately called him out for being out of touch.
“I’m currently in my renovation era,” he shared in an Instagram video this week, adding that after turning his barn into a gym, he’s focused on updating an 1850-built cabin for guests.
To address concerns, Jalen Noble said,
“I hired a genealogist and reached out to an architectural historian to tell me everything I need to know about this cabin.”
He confirmed, “There are no ties to slavery on this property,” calling it “an early settlers’ cabin” turned hunting lodge.
“I also found out that someone with the last name Noble used to live here, which I thought was pretty cool,” he added.
“As a Black man,” Noble reflected, “it leaves me in awe that I am able to own a house that 175 years ago we were not able to.”
