A$AP Rocky Eyeing Role As 1st Black James Bond: ‘Why Not?’

After landing multiple film roles, A$AP Rocky now has his sights set on an iconic franchise: James Bond.

In a new ‘Variety’ interview, the rapper-actor, starring in Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest,” expressed his ambitions.

“I think I need to be the new Black James Bond. Like, why not?” he said. “If we hit the gym, I’ma be aight. Right now I’m in dad mode; you’re gonna have to give me a couple months.” Reflecting on the film’s action scenes, he added, “I was on my Black Tom Cruise s**t.”

If cast, A$AP Rocky would become the first Black Bond, following legends like Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.

Up next, he stars in the dramedy “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” and will release his long-awaited album “Don’t Be Dumb.”
