K-Pop Star Lisa’s Met Gala Look Did Not Feature Rosa Parks On Her Underwear, Rep Confirms
Lisa’s first Met Gala appearance sparked online chatter after photos of her lingerie-inspired Louis Vuitton outfit led some to believe the face of civil rights icon Rosa Parks was embroidered on her underwear.
However, in a statement to Vulture, a rep for artist Henry Taylor, who created the look with Pharrell Williams, clarified,
“The figure featured in Lisa’s Louis Vuitton look is not Rosa Parks, but one of Henry’s neighbors.”

The rep continued,
“The faces seen on this look, as well as on previous LV garments featuring Taylor’s artwork, are all drawn from his personal life: family members, friends, and neighbors. None of the individuals depicted in any of the garments are Rosa Parks or other well-known figures from Black cultural history.”
