Janet Jackson To Be Honored w/ ICON Award At 2025 American Music Awards + Will Deliver 1st Televised Performance Since 2018

Janet Jackson will receive the ICON Award at the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26 in Las Vegas.

CBS and Dick Clark Productions praised her as

“one of the most influential entertainers of the modern era.”

Janet Jackson, 58, shared her excitement on Instagram:

“Thank you so much, AMAs!! ?? It’s an honor. We look forward to being on your stage again. See you in Vegas! ?”

The award honors artists with a “cultural and global influence,” previously awarded to Rihanna and Lionel Richie.

Janet Jackson, an 11-time AMA winner, will also deliver her first televised performance since 2018. She’s also performing six shows at Resorts World as part of her “JANET JACKSON: LAS VEGAS” residency.

Congrats Janet! Is this honor long overdue?
