Sherri Shepherd Confirms Nia Long Was The Woman Who Confronted Her Over Alleged Shade: ‘I Have No Idea Who She Thought Was Shading Her’
Sherri Shepherd cleared the air about a tense moment at the opening of Othello, confirming that Nia Long was the woman who accused her of “shading” her.
During her appearance on The Breakfast Club, Sherri said she had only spoken about Nia once before, supporting her during the fallout of her relationship with NBA coach Ime Udoka. She explained:
“I think Nia Long maybe confused me with someone. I have no idea who she thought was shading her, but it was not me. I have no beef with Nia Long. I’m a fan of hers. We can discuss it; that’s why I invited her on my show.”

If you remember, Sherri shared a story about being at the Othello premiere when a mystery celeb (we now know was Nia) grabbed her arm, spun her around, and said, “You’ve been shading me a lot.” Sherri denied it, but the woman insisted, “Yes, you have!” Sherri said she was left “really mad” and waited in the ladies’ room during intermission, hoping to talk it out. “You don’t get to grab me and turn me around like we’re in a daggum cartoon and just walk away,” she added.
