Ananda Lewis, Iconic MTV VJ & Talk Show Host, Dies At 52 After Battle w/ Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Ananda Lewis, former MTV VJ and talk show host, has died at 52.
Her sister Lakshmi confirmed the news on Facebook, writing, “She’s free, and in His heavenly arms.”
In 2020, Lewis revealed her stage III breast cancer diagnosis, which progressed to stage four.
“I decided to keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way…I wish I could go back,” she later reflected, highlighting her previous commitment to natural treatments.
Rising to fame as a VJ in 1997, Lewis was once called “the hip-hop generation’s reigning It Girl” and hosted her own show in 2001.
She is survived by her son.
