TV Judge Glenda Hatchett Countersued By Georgia Sheriff’s Association, Claims Officer Found Guilty In Her $exual B@ttery Case Was Not An Employee

Georgia-based TV Judge Glenda Hatchett has been hit with a new lawsuit stemming from her own s*xual battery case.

According to reports, the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association has filed a suit against Hatchett, claiming her previous legal action against them was “frivolous” and without merit.

Hatchett initially sued the Association along with Sheriff Kris Coody, alleging that he groped her in 2022 at a Georgia Sheriffs’ Association event held at a bar inside a Cobb County hotel. She later dropped the suit in 2024 after it was transferred to a different county.

Although Coody ultimately pleaded guilty to s*xual battery, resigned from his position, and was sentenced to 12 months probation, 40 hours of community service, and a $500 fine, the Sheriffs’ Association maintains that it had no involvement in the incident.

Now that Hatchett has withdrawn her lawsuit, the Association is seeking damages and reimbursement for legal fees. In a public statement, they wrote:

“First and most importantly, the assault on Ms. Hatchett should never have happened, and every sheriff and our Association staff continue to recognize the resulting trauma she suffers. This deplorable act was committed in a public space by an intoxicated individual who happened to be the elected sheriff of Bleckley County.”

They continued:

“The offender was not an employee or agent of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association, and the assault did not occur at an event hosted, sponsored, or funded by the Association.”

As of now, Hatchett has not publicly commented on the countersuit. As of Wednesday, a judge had not yet ruled on the case.
