Quinta Brunson On Her Divorce Being Made Public Before She Broke The News: ‘People Want Whatever They Can Get’
Quinta Brunson is over people dipping into her personal life.
The Abbott Elementary creator and star opened up about the public learning about her divorce from Kevin Jay Anik before she was ready to share the news in a new cover story for Bustle. Speaking about how even the things she chooses not to share still make headlines, Quinta said:
“Even if you don’t give a lot, people want whatever they can get, and will take whatever they can get. I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce.’ I didn’t announce anything. I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you.”

She continued:
“No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life — it’s just that that’s public record information. I hate all of it.”
As reported, news broke in March that Quinta and Kevin called it quits after three years of marriage. Outside of her latest interview, the former lovebirds haven’t said anything about the divorce. Quinta also made it clear that she loves her supporters during her chat with the publication, but “when it comes to matters of your personal life and decisions you make, you do have to tune [the noise] out.”
