‘Living Single’ Star Erika Alexander Emotionally Talks About Continuing Series Following T.C. Carson’s Exit: ‘I Didn’t Know How To Be Max Without You’
Erika Alexander is giving her “comedy partner” T.C. Carson his flowers!
On the latest episode of her ReLiving Single Podcast, co-hosted by Kim Coles, Erika took a moment to express to guest T.C. how much his abrupt departure from their hit ’90s sitcom Living Single truly affected her. Becoming emotional, she said,
“I missed you. You were my comedy partner. And so doing things without you was weird. ‘Cause I actually didn’t even know how to be Max without you. You know, like it’s part of her. The architecture of Max exists inside of a conversation in a duel with a man named T.C. Carson, who’s playing Kyle. And it was like somebody might have just like take your twin, rip your soul out of you and then say go.”

Living Single premiered in 1993 and ran for 5 seasons, airing its final episode on January 1, 1998. The finale also marked a special return for T.C.’s character Kyle Barker, who had previously moved to London for a job offer. However, it was later revealed that T.C.’s firing was reportedly due to his criticism of Warner Bros. over the way the network seemed to favor Friends over Living Single.
Continuing her praise of T.C., Erika added,
“I just want to let you know, thank you for being that partner for me, and more importantly, our love and our brother. You are outstanding, and you continue to be.”
Good to see how strong Erika and T.C.’s bond still is…all these years later.
