Teyana Taylor Ordered To Pay Iman Shumpert $70,000 After Violating Divorce Order When She Spoke About Their Split On Social Media
Teyana Taylor has been ordered to pay her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, $70,000 in legal fees after being found in contempt of court, Us Weekly reports.
A judge ruled on August 5 that Taylor willfully violated their divorce judgment by disclosing prohibited information in a March 19 Instagram video. The court denied her claims that Shumpert leaked details to the press, stating she failed to provide “even a minimal amount of diligence” to support her allegations.
Shumpert argued Taylor had the means to pay his attorney fees, citing her multiple film roles and upcoming television series. The order noted she refused to answer questions about her assets and income.
In a message submitted as evidence, Taylor told Shumpert, “You’re so bitter and clearly can’t seem to get out of your emotions! … YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL VICTIM. Leave me the hell alone PLEASE!!!!” He allegedly replied, “You keep trying to text first and be professional after you crash out. It’s getting tired.”
