Delta Airlines Passenger Claims Flight Attendant ‘Slapped’ Him In The Face, Now Suing For A Day’s Worth Of Profits

Delta Airlines is facing a new lawsuit after a passenger claimed he was “slapped” by a flight attendant during a recent trip.

Attorneys for Mohammad Shibli discussed the alleged incident at a press conference today (August 26). According to them, Shibli was flying from Delta’s Atlanta hub to California with his wife and two children when he requested water for his crying son.

After being told by the flight attendant that he would have to wait until she reached his row, the situation allegedly escalated. By the time the attendant arrived to serve his section, Shibli said they were hostile, which led to a heated exchange. He also alleged the attendant threatened to have police meet him at the gate, then whispered “a very vulgar word,” prompting him to respond “with a few bad words.”

He recalled: “It was at that time, the Delta attendant took a few steps toward me and struck me with an open palm as hard as she could.” Shibli’s attorneys further claimed that “the a$$ault was so loud that other passengers reported hearing the slap through their noise-cancelling headphones.”

The lawsuit demands that Delta implement Palestinian sensitivity training for its flight attendants and pay Shibli one day’s worth of the airline’s profits.

As of now, Delta has not publicly addressed the incident.
