In a new interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” Paul Wall opened up about his verse on Jill Scott’s 2011 track “So Gone (What My Mind Says)” and how she pushed him to be more explicit.
Initially, Wall said he submitted a clean verse, but Scott wasn’t satisfied.
“She was like, ‘Man, your verse is cool, but I want you to be… I want you to f**k the s**t out of me on your verse,’” he recalled.
“She kept telling me lines she wanted me to say… Jill Scott wrote my whole verse for the most part,” Wall added. “The last thing she said was… ‘say, that’s what a diamond chip d*ck do.’”
