Whoopi Goldberg Urges Republican & Democratic Politicians To “Not Take A Salary” Until Government Shutdown Ends

One thing for sure: #WhoopiGoldberg has never been afraid to speak her mind.

On a recent episode of #TheView, the actress and co-host publicly called on both #Republicans and #Democrats to voluntarily stop accepting their salaries until the ongoing government shutdown is resolved. Whoopi voiced her frustration over the political stalemate and urged leaders to personally feel the consequences of the shutdown just as their constituents do. “I would like Republicans and Democrats to come together and decide they’re not going to take their salaries,” #Whoopi said.

The Sister Act star continued, “Until this affects you the way it’s affecting your constituents, y’all are not going to settle this. So, as an American, I am asking that you not take a salary until you settle this.”
