Beloved Harlem battle rapper #PostaBoy, born Sherard Dixon, has reportedly passed away at the age of 43. While his family or official representatives have not yet issued a public statement, several hip hop vets have spoken out on his passing, including fellow New York artist #MickeyFactz.
Posta Boy first gained national attention through 106 & Park’s “Freestyle Friday,” where he became a fan favorite after going undefeated for seven straight weeks, a run that earned him a spot in the show’s Hall of Fame. Beyond the battle-rap stage, his résumé includes collaborations with major hip-hop figures such as #Nelly, Raekwon, #TalibKweli, and others.
While Posta Boy’s cause of de@th has not been confirmed, he previously revealed he had been battling cancer and underwent major surgery.
