SZA Confused Why Nicki Minaj Told Her To ‘Shut Up Ugly In Heated X Rant: ‘I Don’t
SZA is channeling #MariahCarey’s iconic “I don’t know her” energy when it comes to #NickiMinaj.
If you remember, Nicki took aim at SZA over the summer during an X rant that began with her going after Top Dawg Entertainment president Punch, accusing him of bullying her online. Things escalated when she shifted her focus to #TDE’s SZA after the singer posted about Mercury retrograde. Nicki called her “Liar pants,” criticized her faux freckles and vocals, claiming she sounds like a “de@d dog.”
A seemingly confused SZA responded with, “I don’t give a f**k bout none of that weird sh*t you popping,” which only led Nicki to fire off more posts, including, “Shutup ugly… B***h fat chubby & Skinny @ the same d@mn time.”
#SZA is now addressing the situation directly. Speaking with #GQ, she explained why Nicki’s comments caught her off guard: “I don’t know her. We have no connection to each other. There’s no backstory. Like, there was no through-line narrative.”
She also touched on Nicki tying her to Jay-Z’s #RocNation, adding, “It was just like, ‘Roc Nation’…. I don’t know where it came from. That’s not even my place to correct a narrative that I don’t got sh*t to do with. It was a little strange. It was very like, ‘Why?’ But also, you know, ‘I guess.’”
Chile…Y’all think this is the end of it, or will X see another round?
