Teyana Taylor Opens Up About Juggling Acting Career While Attending Culinary School
#TeyanaTaylor might be living proof that you really can have it all.
The multi-hyphenate star recently teamed up with Ex Machina star #OscarIsaac for Variety Studio’s Actors on Actors segment. During their conversation, which went live today (Dec. 15), Oscar asked Teyana how she manages to balance her booming acting career with life as a culinary student. Explaining how she makes it work, #Teyana shared, “It’s actually the thing that gives me a few to just be quiet and cook. It’s an art. But when I signed up and realized I had business classes and all other types of shit, I was like, Oh, shit, baby. So now I’m on my way to the “One Battle After Another” premiere on my iPad doing schoolwork. But it keeps me grounded.”
She continued, “Some stuff you’ve got to let sit for three hours before you can cook it. Culinary school and working with PTA really geared me up. I feel like I’m going to be a great director. It might sound weird, like, All this from learning how to make a steak?” She later added, “It’s all about balance.” Teyana first revealed she was attending culinary school over the summer. Sharing the news in an IG post, she wrote, “Wow… it’s really happening. A dream I’ve carried in my heart for so long is finally becoming a reality and I’m feeling every bit of it.”
#TJBCrew, would you go back to school while juggling a booming career?
