Actor Don Cheadle Says ‘Dr”gs’ Are The Secret To His 30-Year Relationship w/ His Wife
After more than three decades together, actor Don Cheadle still knows how to keep things light when talking about love.
The Oscar-nominated actor offered a playful answer when asked about the secret behind his long-lasting relationship with wife Bridgid Coulter.
“Dr*gs, yeah, mostly dr*gs,” Cheadle, 61, joked to Us Weekly while attending an All the President’s Men benefit reading in Los Angeles.
Cheadle and Coulter, who began dating in 1992, married in 2020 after nearly three decades together. The couple share two adult daughters, Ayana, 31, and Imani, 29, and remain deeply connected.
“My kids are grown, and my wife is very busy and does her own thing, but we’ve been together for a lot of it,” Cheadle said. “We’re tight, we’re tight-knit, and we support each other. So it’s been great.”
He previously joked their marriage was prompted by practical advice.
“Our accountant proposed to both of us,” he once shared, adding, “Wait 28 years before you get married. Do not rush into things. Be very careful!”
