Isaac Hayes’ Family Settles Lawsuit Against Donald Trump Over Unauthorized Use Of ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’ At Campaign Rallies
More than a year after a federal judge barred the use of his music, Isaac Hayes’ family says their legal fight with Donald Trump has officially come to an end.
The late soul legend’s estate confirmed it has settled its lawsuit against Trump and his campaign over the repeated use of “Hold On, I’m Coming” at political rallies. In a statement shared on Facebook, the family said the matter “has been mutually resolved, and we are satisfied with the outcome.”
Hayes’ son, Isaac Hayes III, called the resolution bigger than the courtroom battle itself.
“This resolution represents more than the conclusion of a legal matter,” he wrote. “It reaffirms the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and copyrights, especially as they relate to legacy, ownership, and the responsible use of creative works.”
The estate added that “as stewards of his legacy, we remain committed to ensuring that his work is respected and properly protected,” emphasizing, “Protecting ownership is not only about the past, it is about preserving dignity, value, and accountability for future generations.”
What are your thoughts on this case finally ending?
