Funk Flex Accuses DJ Enuff Of Allegedly Taking Secret Payments To Push Music
#FunkFlex leveled serious accusations at fired former Hot97 host DJ Enuff on X Wednesday night, alleging he took payola — accepting money in exchange for radio play, which is illegal and can carry steep fines or jail time.
In a pointed post, Flex claimed French Montana paid #DJEnuff $25,000 for a Heavyhitters conference call, Maino paid $40,000 for mixshow list adds, N.O.R.E. was offered a discounted $2,500 rate for a month of spins, Myles Brando paid $10,000 to perform at a mixshow meeting and get added to the list, and DJ Wavy was asked to pay $2,500 to spin during Summer Mix Weekend.
The allegations come nearly a year after Enuff, who was let go in last summer’s Hot97 shake-up alongside Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez, told TMZ he believed Flex played a role in his firing — a claim Rosenberg pushed back on, suggesting station management wanted staff turning on each other instead. DJ Enuff has yet to respond to Flex’s accusations.
