[UPDATED] Tameka Raymond Loses Court Battle, Usher Keeps Custody of Children
Just five days after their 5-year-old son had a pool accident, both Usher and Tameka Raymond took their ongoing battle to an Atlanta court room. If you’ve followed this story, then you’re well of how things have transpired between the two.
In short, Tameka was granted an emergency custody hearing after Usher Raymond V nearly drowned Monday in a pool. In court on Friday, Usher’s attorney (John Mayoue) explained that the incident was an accident.
This was an accident that could happen to anyone with adult supervision. He wants to be at his son’s side at the hospital. He doesn’t want to be here today.
During the hearing, the courtroom played the emotional 911 call made by Usher’s aunt, Rena Oden, who was caring for the child. Tameka cried, as she listened to it during her testimony. On the stand, Tameka explained:
I don’t know where my children are. I don’t know who my children are with. He doesn’t confer to me regarding anything.
Usher also took the stand. Stay tuned for more updates. Story developing. UPDATED: 5:30 p.m. EST. The Associated Press confirmed, that the judge dismissed Tameka’s emergency request. Usher Raymond will keep custody of their two children. No official response from neither camp has yet been shared. UPDATED: 10 p.m. EST. Tameka posted the following message on Facebook:
When life doesn’t make sense, remember the universal system is beyond anything we can comprehend. We don’t need to see it. Just trust it.
