NeNe Leakes Says Bridesmaid Marlo Hampton Is ‘Extra, Over the Top’, Calls Her Business Sense ‘Unattractive’

NeNe Leakes is giving fans her absolute REAL opinion of what she thinks of the foolery that her bridesmaids are serving thus far on her BRAVO special, I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding. It’s only two episodes in and two of her bridesmaids, Marlo Hampton and Diana Gowins, seem to be having some serious tension while the cameras roll. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly the Real Housewives of Atlanta Star speaks quite candidly about the drama between her bridesmaids and her communication issues with Gregg’s children .
On who were the most difficult bridesmaids:
The most difficult people were Marlo Hampton and Diana Gowins. When I say difficult, it was unbelievable that they could not step outside of themselves and say that this is a wedding for NeNe, our friend, and let’s just be here to support her. They argued most of the time, they were never really satisfied. They were very difficult in different ways. After working with Marlo on the show, I could see why she was not a housewife, because she’s super difficult. She’s super extra. When Marlo and I worked on Real Housewives, she was just appearing here and there. When we worked on I Dream of Nene, I could see her business sense, and it just wasn’t attractive. Diana is a good girlfriend of mine, we’ve been friends for a very long time. It was very hard for her to see me befriend other girls. She became super-protective, a security guard, a gate keeper, just everything you can think of. That is her nature. What I would say to her is “I’m in the business to meet other women, and if I choose to go out on a dinner date with another girlfriend, what’s your problem?” So that was crazy. They’re definitely bridesmaid-zillas. They forgot that the word bridesmaid ends in “maid.” Just wear what I ask you to wear, just do that. I feel like Diana’s intentions in protecting me were, well, it’s just the way that she went about it, that was the problem.
She also discussed working on the communication issues with Gregg’s children explaining:
I love Gregg’s kids. I’m sure Gregg’s ex-wife is watching the show, seeing me with them. I’ve never had anything against her, but the relationship with Gregg’s children is good. I love Gregg’s older children like they were my own. We’re all learning to communicate better, all Gregg’s kids are good, it’s just the oldest one — he’s a bit more outspoken. The rest of them are pretty quiet.
Meanwhile, Marlo explained more of her issues with Diana on her personal blog:
How dare she come at me like that again, especially since her personal life is far from being squeaky clean, (side eye… watch out for the skeletons falling out of her closet!). All of the people NeNe chose to be in her wedding have meant something special to her at some point in her life. It doesn’t matter if she’s known them her whole life, or just a few years, she made her choices, so we should all respect that – and most of us do… The fact that I’m not the only one who thinks this woman is territorial and possessive, (in a not so healthy way) also speaks volumes. Unfortunately, reaching this revelation at our dinner was sad. This time was meant to bring us together as we prepare to celebrate NeNe’s nuptials. We were supposed to be there for NeNe! It was meant to be a time for celebration. Somebody please get that memo to Diana! And don’t forget to tell her that NeNe is a person, not a possession.

The bridemaids are a hott mess on this show but what do you expect with some many women together.
They are an odd combination but overall, I think they’re all to old to be acting like that. Out of all, I can see where NeNe has grown & matured the most.
That whole issue at dinner would not have happened if NeNe would have kept her mouth shut. She started the drama and then sat there like they are ruining my day. The right thing to do would be to have the women sit down at a later time and address these issues if she felt this information needed to be discussed.
Hey, girls will be girls especially when you are combining your old friends who have been with you from the beginning, with your new ones you met after becoming a celebrity.
It’s BRIDESMAID(S) NOT BRIDEMAID(S)!!!! Ugh, damn country black folk don’t know how to say/pronounce sh!t right!
