Radio Personality Egypt Sherrod Leaves V-103 + Gives Back With Reality Stars Nicci Gilbert, Quad Webb-Lunceford & Q-Parker
Reality stars came out in full force to support radio and TV personality Egypt Sherrod’s Fourth Annual ‘Give Back Tour’ in Atlanta. Held by Sherrod’s Egypt Cares Family Foundation, the week long toy, clothing and toiletry drive benefits several Atlanta area charities including The Cascade House, Atlanta Children’s Shelter, and The Covenent House. We peeped a few non-scripted stars in attendance including: Quad Webb-Lunceford, Mariah Huq, Nicci Gilbert, Shay Johnson, singers Isaac Caree, Algebra and Q Parker. On another note, during the event, Egypt confirmed that she’d be leaving radio, departing her daily V-103 radio show. She explained:
This event means so much too so many people and I can’t thank the local community enough for its support. I relocated with my family to Atlanta in 2011 to join the V-103 family and I instantly fell in love with the warmth of the people of Atlanta, and the city I now call home. However, after much consideration I have decided that the time is right for me to take a break from the station while I look to focus on a number of upcoming multi-media business opportunities. Have no fear; I have 19 years of my life invested in radio, and I have no plans of walking away from it permanently. I am very excited about the dynamic year ahead I have in store. I have enjoyed the past two years I spent as an on-air talent at V-103, and am looking forward to all the great blessings God continues to consistently place in my life. Thank you to the people of Atlanta…I love you forever!”
ATL listeners will miss her, but we’re sure brighter things are on the horizon. Anywho check out photos from the event.
Sherrod will continue to host HGTV’s popular series, Property Virgins, promote her real estate book nationally and executive produce three news shows she created.
