[VIDEO] Karrueche Says People Will Never Understand the Love She Has for Chris Brown
Romantically linked to Chris Brown on and off for the past three years, we (the public) hardly ever hear of Karrueche Tran. Besides beefing with Rihanna online, we’ve only caught glimpses of her on red carpets and in photo shoots–until now. She recently chatted (outside of meeting her last month, this is the first time we’ve literally heard her voice) with Global Grind’s Blogxilla, giving a rare interview providing insight on who she really is. The 25-year-old shares what caused her clothing line to have a year delay, how she handles criticism from complete strangers and the one plastic surgery move she’s contemplated in the past.
On the delay of her clothing line, The Kill:
We wanted to do this really cool launch on 12 12 12..It’s been much more work than I expected. We thought we would be able to get it out by 12 12 12 and have this awesome launch. I had to take a seat, chill out and make sure everything was set in order and it’s been a year…We’ve made so much progress and I’m just so happy with where we’re at and how the line has turned out and the clothes and everything. I’d rather make sure things are right than rushed.
On dealing with haters and critics who attack her online:
It’s kinda hard and its annoying because these people just say whatever they want. Anything I do its like, ‘Oh you couldn’t launch you’re line you’re a dumb b…you’re wack’, just stupid stuff. Like you can’t even say my name or spell my name, first of all. I just try my best to ignore it and look on the positive side. At the end of the day, they don’t know who I am and they’re judging me based off their opinions, so I just try and stay on the positive side.
On loving Chris unconditionally:
It’s different and its something that a lot of people won’t and will never understand. Which is why I get so much flack and hate because you know looking from the outside in it looks messy…Nobody knows the real story, nobody knows what I went through so.
On if considers cosmetic surgery:
I’ve considered getting a boob job, but I don’t think I ‘m going to. It’s not really my thing. I would love something there but probably not.
On what she has learned about herself since being in the public eye:
I’ve discovered myself a little more, personality wise. Just being put through certain situations, whether its being in the spotlight, heartbreak, friends coming and going, family. I’ve grown and I’ve matured and I kinda like that. Even going back to like the haters and stuff; it’s messed up what they say but that’s made me stronger and its built me to who I am today and I’m completely fine with that.
Sometimes I hold back from tweeting certain things..sometimes you’re emotional and you want to tweet a lyric or whatever it maybe and sometimes I can’t do that because if I do then it’s like, ‘This means this and she must be going through this,’ it’s like what the hell?
On her hand tattoo:
It’s a chinese dragon, I am partially Chinese and Vietnamese and I was born in 1988 which is the year of the dragon, which is why I got the dragon, it was kinda spur of the moment. I think Chris was getting a tattoo and I was like, ‘What do I wanna get?’ Actually, I was either gonna do from my wrist up, a sleeve or my wrist down. I’m thinking about maybe connecting it. I gotta slow down on the tattoos.
On how auditioning for jobs with her tattoos hinders her career:
I just recently signed with LA talent with their commercial division…it’s kinda hard going into auditions and I have this massive tattoo on my hand and usually they want somebody who is a bit more bare.
On her favorite song on Beyonce’s new album:
Beyonce right now I would have to say ‘Drunk In Love’. That gets me in the mood I guess, the turn up mood. I love Beyonce. When her album came out I was eating sushi and I’m on Twitter and I see all these tweets..I’m like we have to leave right now, we have to listen to this album right now and I downloaded it right that second.
