Two Arrests In Two Days: Rappers Young Jeezy & Soulja Boy Locked Up
2014 is off to a rocky start for two thriving rappers. First, rapper Soulja Boy (real name DeAndre Cortez Way) was arrested early Wednesday morning. According to TMZ, the 23-year-old was riding shot gun (as a passenger) in a vehicle when he was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley for running a stop sign.
During the stop, the officer noticed that he was in possession of a loaded gun. He was then arrested and booked. Unfortunately, this isn’t Soulja Boy’s first run-in with the law. In 2011, he and four friends were pulled over and arrested in Georgia, after having more than five ounces of marijuana in the vehicle. He was arrested and released on bond during the same day.
In similar rappers behaving badly news, rapper Young Jeezy (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) has landed in hot water. Tuesday (January 21st), he was arrested for obstructing police officers. Reportedly, he was at his girlfriend’s home in Alpharetta when cops responded to an alarm call. No word on who triggered the alarm, but allegedly when cops arrived Jeezy got into an argument with them. Reportedly, he refused to identify himself and began to curse them out and attempted to pull away when they tried to handcuffs on him. uncooperative with officers, refusing to identify himself, and cussing them out. He was then arrested and landed in a Fulton County Jail. Earlier this month, Jeezy was arrested for false imprisonment and making terroristic threats after an alleged fight with his son.
