[EXCLUSIVE] Syleena Johnson Addresses Claims Porsha Williams Stole Her Song
Real Housewives of Atlanta reality star Porsha Williams is involved with new drama, off-camera, that has nothing to do with being a house wife. The drama surrounds reports that she allegedly stole a song called ‘Perfectly Worthless‘, from producer Pierre Medor and R&B Divas singer, Syleena Johnson. Pierre’s publicist sent us the following email:
The recent airing of Perfectly Worthless by RHOA has come as a complete surprise to us. In the business more than one artist will record the same song hoping for the right outcome, as was the case with Perfectly Worthless. Porsha Stewart wanted a song, Pierre Medor wrote and produced this song in its entirety. Not having any previous point of reference for Porsha, we initially recorded the song for the purpose of determining her vocal abilities and howthey would fit with this particular song; it was quickly determined that this song wasn’t the best match for her, so we chose not to sell her the song and notified her management of our decision.
Perfectly Worthless is a great song and she loves it…we get that. But just like every body doesn’t look good in spandex, every voice doesn’t fit every song. It’s just unfortunate that Porsha has chosen to create another delusional marriage with this song by airing it and claiming to have taken part in its creation. We have since sold the song to Syleena Johnson of R&B Divas ATL. Syleena, who has a phenomenal voice, did an amazing job recording the song and plans to include Perfectly Worthless on her forthcoming album as well as the up coming season of R&B Divas. And…. to clear up any confusion this is what the song Perfectly Worthless should sound like!
After hearing reports, theJasmineBRAND.com spoke with Syleena exclusively, asking for her thoughts on the matter.
Check out our conversation below.
theJasmineBRAND.com: What are you most excited about, with your new project, Chapter 6: Couples Therapy?
Syleena: I’m excited about the depth lyrically and musically.
Syleena: I was surprised to hear the song on her show. I am/was confused maybe, but not really anything else.
Syleena: I am not concerned about the momentum because it is a great song. Great songs will break thru. The people will make the call.
Syleena: No I haven’t spoken to Porsha, but I’m sure she’s a nice person. I don’t think she had me in mind when she decided to drop this as her single….I hope :)
