Chris Brown Gets More Jail Time
Not so good new for Chris Brown. On Friday, he was sentenced to spend an additional four months in jail. The singer admitted he violated his probation by getting into an altercation outside a hotel in Washington, D.C., last year.
Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin sentenced him to serve an additional 131 days in jail, although he’s likely to get out much sooner. He was sentenced to serve a year in county jail but was also given credit for nearly eight months. The credits include time that the singer has spent in rehab and jail, as well as credits for good behavior while behind bars.
According to the Associated Press, his time could be reduced once they tally his sentence and determine whether he’s eligible for early release. As of early February, Brown had 800 hours of community labor remaining.
The judge said he took into account that Chris was relatively young, 23, when he attacked Rihanna, and that he had a previously undiagnosed mental illness before the case began.
