Celebs Spotted At ‘African Black Film Festival’: Spike Lee, Jasmine Guy, Niecy Nash, Morris Chestnut & More
Over the weekend, the American Black Film Festival (originally called the Acalpulco Black Film Festival) took place. The annual festival is an independent film festival that focuses primarily on works by Black members of the film industry.
This year the festival took place in NYC (in past years, it was held in Miami). As is customary, the festival featured full-length narratives, short films, mobile entertainment and documentaries, all by and/or featuring Black writers, directors, actors, and actresses. A few celebrity guests that we caught, via Instagram, include: Vanessa Bell Callow, Alfre Woodard, Niecy Nash, Roland Martin, Spike Lee, Omari Hardwick, Mara Brock-Akil, Gayle King, Tika Sumpter, Ashanti, T.I., Marlo Hampton (Real Housewives of Atlanta), D.Woods, Carole Shine (producer), Tatyana Ali, Torrey Laamar and Brad James.
