Free Jay-Z Concert Canceled in NYC
Plans for a free Jay-Z concert on June 21st have now been scrapped. The concert was scheduled to take place on the rooftop of the Ed Sullivan Theater and would then be aired on the Late Show w/ David Letterman. Apparently, the concert was canceled because of public safety concerns.
“There was discussion of a concert, and ultimately it was decided there would be no permit,” a spokesperson said. “Many permits are granted on the condition that the event is not made public beforehand for capacity and security reasons. This event was made public.”
The next scheduled NYC concert will take place in September w/ Eminem at Yankee Stadium. No word yet from Jay’s camp.
