Russell Simmons Explains Why He Told Donald Trump to ‘Stop the bullsh*t’
Russell Simmons is speaking out against his former friend and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump regarding his polarizing comments and his latest proposal to ban Muslims from the U.S. The hip-hop mogul and founder of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, whose sole mission is to fight bigotry, spoke with “Extra’s” AJ Calloway, along with his fellow chairman Rabbi Marc Schneier. Simmons explains why he penned an open letter to Donald urging him to “stop the bulls***” and “stop fueling fires of hate”:
Even if it’s my friend, I have to at least and especially in a public forum as big as he has, you have to be able to stop it or talk about it in a more reasonable way and so that’s why I wrote the letter, to create dialogue.
He adds:
The message is I’ve known you forever as a person who’s been friendly to people from all ethnicities and religions and so forth…That should be your platform, that’s the platform that you operated on in the past.
