Arsenio Hall to Host ABC Singing Show ‘Greatest Hits’
Arsenio Hall is returning to TV. ABC has given a six-episode order to “Greatest Hits,” a new unscripted singing show hosted by the comedian and Kelsea Ballerini, according to Variety.
According to the site,
The series will feature iconic music artists and current chart-toppers performing hits from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Each episode will focus on a five-year period in time and feature duets, tributes and solo performances. Produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, “Greatest Hits” will premiere June 30. Ken Ehrlich, James McKinlay and Raj Kapoor will serve as executive producers. “Greatest Hits” is the latest in a series of new unscripted series ordered by ABC for its summer schedule, joining “To Tell the Truth,” “The $100,000 Pyramid” and “Match Game.”
Arsenio is best known for hosting The Arsenio Hall Show, a late-night talk show that ran from 1989 until 1994, and a revival of the same show from 2013 to 2014. Other television shows and films he has appeared in are Martial Law, Star Search (host), “Coming to America” (1988), and “Harlem Nights” (1989). He is also known for his appearance as Alan Thicke’s sidekick on the talk show Thicke of the Night. In 2012, Hall won NBC’s reality-competition game show Celebrity Apprentice 5.
