NFL Denies Adele’s Claims of Being Invited to Perform at Super Bowl [Why You Always, Lying?]
Adele says that she turned down the opportunity to perform at next year’s halftime at Super Bowl LI . Over the weekend during her Staples Center performance, the singer addressed rumors that she would be the featured entertainer during the Super Bowl:
I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.
However, The NFL and Super Bowl halftime show sponsor Pepsi released a joint statement, denying that she was actually extended an invitation:
The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.
There ya have it! P.S. Who do YOU want to see perform during the Superbowl?
