Mary J. Blige Addresses Messy Divorce During Tour

Mary J. Blige is bringing the drama surrounding her split from estranged husband and longtime manager to Kendu Isaacs to the stage. Over the weekend, Blige, who has said very little about their split publicly, opened her European tour displaying headlines highlighting their messy separation.

As previously reported, Kendu wants spousal support, allegedly, asking for $129,319 per month.

The couple did sign a prenup, but Kendu claims that he signed it without a lawyer and that it is not a valid agreement. In fact, he says that Mary has already given him two checks, around $80, since their separation. We hear that since he has managed Mary for years and she’s currently touring, he has no income. Especially since Mary was the breadwinner in their marriage.

In July, Mary filed for divorce, after 12 years of marriage. In an interview, she opened up about their split saying,

If you know me, you know what I’m dealing with right now. The ‘Thick of It’ is the divorce and all this stuff that’s going on right now. It’s the heaviness of it and the whole thing.

She added,

That’s where I am. I’m in the middle of a divorce and it doesn’t feel good. It feels terrible, but I have strength to get through and I get through by any means necessary.

We recently reported earlier this summer that legendary singer filed divorce papers against her longtime manager Kendu Issacs. Mary’s estranged hubby has clapped back with reasons for spousal support following the breakup.
