‘Rush Hour 4’ Movie On The Way, If Chris Tucker Agrees
‘Rusher Hour 4’ Movie May Be On The Way
A ‘Rush Hour 4′ may be on the way. It’s been over ten years since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have joined forces for a ‘Rush Hour’ movie and it appears that the green light has been given. Chan recently explained,
For the last 20 years, I’ve tried different [characters,]. A few years ago, Karate Kid. There was supposed to be a Karate Kid 2 but the script isn’t right. Several years later they want to do it and I say, ‘You still want to do Karate Kid? No, Karate Men.’ They’re taller than me now!
He added,
Rush Hour you can do any time… Next year! For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed. The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we’ll] probably start.
However, Chan added,
If… Chris Tucker agrees.
Chan says that Tucker’s decision will most likely come down to scheduling constraints.
It’s not about money! It’s about [having the] time to make. Otherwise, Rush Hour 4 we’re all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4.’
The Rush Hour franchise is a series of three Chinese-American martial arts/action-comedy buddy cop films created by Ross LaManna, directed by Brett Ratner, and distributed by New Line Cinema. All three films center on a pair of police detectives: a Hong Kong Police Force inspector and an American LAPD detective (portrayed by Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker) who go on a series of misadventures often involving corrupt crime figures. The films were released theatrically between 1998 and 2007, and have achieved commercial success and incorporate elements of martial arts, humor, and the buddy cop subgenre.
