‘The Mayor’ Starring Brandon Micheal Hall, Yvette Nicole Brown Canceled
‘The Mayor’ Canceled
ABC is pulling the plug on one of its new comedy series. Reportedly, the network has decided to cancel ‘The Mayor‘. Four unaired episodes of the series remain and the comedy has been pulled off the air ahead of its January return. There may be some light at the end of the tunnel, as they are said to be shopping the comedy elsewhere, with Hulu being a potential option.
Executive produced by Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs, The Mayor starred Brandon Micheal Hall as Courtney Rose, an aspiring rapper who unwittingly becomes the mayor of his hometown after running to gain publicity for his music. Lea Michele and Yvette Nicole Brown also star, with newcomers Bernard David Jones and Marcel Spears.
Yvette Nicole Brown responded to the news stating,
Welp! #GrandOpeningGrandClosing Sending a hearty thank you to all of you who gave our sweet show a shot! Bummed that our time in Fort Grey is over and that (4) eps remain unseen but that’s the biz. Ya win some, ya lose some. I’m so grateful that I got to bring #DinaRose? to life. It was such a JOY! ? #Grateful #TheMayor
