Juelz Santana Enters Plea Deal, Pleads Guilty To Trying To Bring A Gun On A Flight
Back in March, Juelz Santana was arrested after he attempted to flee Newark Liberty International Airport upon TSA’s discovery that a handgun was in his carry-on luggage. Oxycodone was also found and at the time, the rapper plead ‘not guilty’. It appears now that he has had a change of heart.
According to new reports, Santana, real name Laron L. James, is pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft. Per his plea deal, Santana could face 2 to 5 years behind bars. However, the judge is not required to honor the deal and each charge carries a maximum of 10 years.
As part of his plea deal, Juelz must also surrender his .38 Derringer handgun to the government permanently along with the two rounds of ammunition he was accused of bringing to the airport. Currently, he is not incarcerated but is being heavily monitored. He’s also been allowed to film Love & Hip Hop in the meantime.
Juelz Santana’s sentencing is scheduled for December 12.
