Jemele Hill To Part Ways w/ ESPN, Receives $6 Million Buyout

Jemele Hill To Officially Part Ways With ESPN, Receives $6 Million Buyout
Coming September 1st, after working with ESPN for over a decade, Jemele Hill is moving on to greener pastures. According to reports, Hill recently requested a meeting with newly appointed ESPN president James Pitaro in which it’s reported that her decision was made. Just last week, it was reported that Pitaro had met with NFL executives and vowed to stay away from political content and stick to sports. Something that Hill, who is very vocal online about her disdain for Donald Trump and the mistreatment of people of color, would likely disagree with.
Jemele requested to be relieved from her position at ESPN shortly after the ESPY awards earlier this month. She will be leaving with a nice parting gift, however. According to Bossip, Hill will receive just shy of $6 million from ESPN to fulfill the multi-year deal she signed in 2016. According to reports, Hill will focus her energy on her new production company Lodge Freeway Media, where she will concentrate on future endeavors that speak that reflect her socially-conscious voice.
To date, Jemele has yet to comment.
