Rapper Kodak Black Says He Still Plans To Wear Gucci – “Black People Be Reaching, The Design Wasn’t Racist!”
In the short time since the severe backlash surrounding luxury brand Gucci initially selling a sweater that many felt mimicked blackface, several high-profile celebrities have decided to boycott the brand until further notice. However, not every celeb is on board, as Floyd Mayweather, and now rapper Kodak Black, have pledged their commitment to the brand despite the controversy.
Celebrities such as T.I., Spike Lee, Russell Simmons and designer Dapper Dan (who has a meeting scheduled with the Gucci brand CEO regarding the blackface controversy,) have all voiced their opinions about Gucci and vowed not to financially support the high-end brand in an effort to take a stand to show black dollars matter and black people deserve respect.

Some people agree with their stance, but rapper Kodak Black is not one of them. He decided to get on social media and give his opinion on the blackface controversy and the boycott from the black community. Black said this:
“See my little Gucci clothes that I bought? And I’ma wear it… I’m black, right? And I’m thug to the bone, right? And I f**k with white people, right? But sometimes black people do be reaching for like no reason. Just be reaching. Them people ain’t do nothing—them people ain’t say nothing bout no racist s**t. Them people just had a little ski mask—there’s all kinds of ski masks in the world.”
He ended his rant, saying that black people should focus on real racists, like the Ku Klux Klan:
“Them people wasn’t on no racist shit. How ’bout yall go shoot up the KKK, then?”
