Jussie Smollett – Brothers Connected To Actor’s Alleged Staged Attack Release 1st Statement
For the first time since “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett‘s alleged January attack, Nigerian brothers Abindola “Abel” Osundairo and Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo are speaking out. They have released their first statement via their lawyer to the Chicago Sun Times. Attorney Gloria Schmidt released this statement:
“My clients have tremendous regret over their involvement in this situation, and they understand how it has impacted people across the nation, particularly minority communities and especially those who have been victims of hate crimes themselves.”
The brothers were allegedly recruited by Jussie to fulfill a staged racist/homophobic attack for what many believe was to demand more pay from his Fox/”Empire” executives. Fox later denied that they believe Jussie wanted more money.
Abel and Ola Osundairo were detained for questioning, and later released. Cook County prosecutors have since charged Jussie with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report. Jussie was removed the filming the remaining season of “Empire” as a result of the controversy.
